Beatnik Movement
The artistic Beatnik Movement included On the Road, Catcher in the Rye, I am Legend, Narnia and Minor Characters.
The "beat" generation was known for using some drugs such as marijuana and benzidrine. In later "hippie" years, they started using stronger drugs such as LSD and peyote.
The "Beatniks" were very anti-materialistic and coined the beret-wearing, cappichino-drinking image.
"The so-called Beat Generation was a whole bunch of people, of all different nationalities, who came to the conclusion that society sucked."
- Amiri Baraka
